Matcha Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients:

  • Dough: 1 cup (240ml) warm milk, 2 teaspoons instant yeast, ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar, 4 cups (480g) all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted, 1 large egg
  • Filling: ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened, 1 tablespoon matcha powder, ¾ cup (150g) brown sugar, 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • Icing: 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions:

  1. For the dough, mix milk, yeast, and sugar. Add flour, salt, melted butter, and egg. Knead into a smooth dough, then let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Roll out dough into a rectangle. Mix matcha, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling and spread over dough with softened butter.
  3. Roll the dough tightly, cut into 12 slices, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes. Cool slightly.
  5. Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over rolls.
